About
Kristina Bergersen completed her PhD in the field of microbiology and immunology at the University of California Riverside studying the role of innate neutrophils in the immune response to chronic Toxoplasma gondii infection. She joined the Reed lab in September 2023 and is a recipient of the KUHR-TN TL1 Program Fellowship Award. Her current project studies the role of pathogen-associated molecular pattern (PAMP)-induced reprogramming of macrophages in the immune response to hematogenously disseminated candidiasis (HDC) and how it affects infection outcome.
